Glycolic acid is the most studied alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) in skincare. It has the smallest molecular size of all AHAs, allowing it to penetrate the skin efficiently and dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells. The result is faster skin cell turnover, a smoother texture, reduced pigmentation, and a more even, radiant complexion over time.
This collection brings together glycolic acid serums and AHA liquid exfoliants — including lactic acid and mandelic acid formulas from The Ordinary. Lactic acid is gentler than glycolic and also acts as a humectant, making it better suited to dry or sensitive skin. Mandelic acid is the gentlest AHA, derived from bitter almonds, and is a good option for those new to chemical exfoliation or dealing with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Apply a thin layer to clean skin 2–3 nights per week, avoiding the eye area. Follow with a moisturiser to support the skin barrier, and always apply sunscreen in the morning — AHAs increase photosensitivity. Do not layer with strong retinol or vitamin C on the same night unless your skin is well-adapted.
